There are three basic rules: 1- The student must read the book (you'd be surprised how many try to get away with the movie version). 2- The book must be on their reading level: an easy way to know if the book is on their level is to have them read a page out loud to you. If they make more than five errors, it is probably too difficult. If they breeze through it, ask questions to check their understanding . . . it might be too easy. 3- The book must have at least 100 pages. The scoring guide for the presentation and the project are attached. On the back of this paper is a list of project to choose from. If the student has an idea for a project not on the list, have them see me first for approval. **Hints for success: Start early (don't wait until the last minute) Be creative!! Read books you love! If reading is not your favorite thing, read about something you love!
