Most recently, he served as Superintendent of Wasatch County School District in Utah, where he led significant district growth, expanded educational opportunities, and earned national recognition for improving student achievement and supporting teacher development.

In addition to his district leadership experience, Mr. Sweat has served in several state and national leadership roles, including on the Governing Board of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), as Chair of the BYU Public School Partnership Governing Board, and as a member of the Utah State Digital Learning Advisory Board. The Board selected Mr. Sweat for his proven leadership, collaborative approach, and commitment to student success.

As Superintendent, Mr. Sweat will provide leadership and stability while working closely with district staff, students, families, and the Board of Trustees. He will help ensure continuity of operations, maintain focus on student learning, and support the district's strategic priorities.

"Paul Sweat is a respected educational leader with a strong record of supporting students, staff, and communities," said Board Chairman Ralph Wheatley. "His experience will provide stability and guidance moving forward." Mr. Sweat expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve, stating, "I am honored to serve Marsh Valley School District and look forward to working with students, staff, families, and the community to build on the district's strengths and support student success."

After retiring as Superintendent from Wasatch County School District in 2025, Mr. Sweat and his wife Teri moved full-time to the Swan Lake area, joining two of their adult children and their families, who already called Marsh Valley home. This Fall, Mr. Sweat will proudly have 2 grandchildren attending Marsh Valley schools, further strengthening his connection to the community and our schools.
